Mary, Mother of Martyrs Parish, was invited earlier this year to participate in a national study of Catholic parishes under the guidance of the Catholic Leadership Institute. All parishes of the Archdiocese of Chicago were part of this survey, with 46,719 responses (19 % of parishioners), significantly higher than typical diocesan participation. Our parish has a 26 % participation.
The survey was designed to measure, besides the parish’s demographics, general themes such as spiritual growth, relationships, personal beliefs, and perceptions about the faith. The ultimate goal is to create an action plan for the next 5 years that helps our parish implement
concretely its vision of “Listening to the Lord.”
