Mary, Mother of Martyrs Parish

Prayers for the Christmas Novena

PRAYER FOR EVERY DAY

Most Blessed God of infinite charity, who loves men and women so much, that you gave them your Son as the best pledge of your love. As he was made man in the womb of a virgin, and he was born in a manger for our health and remedy. On behalf of all people, I give you infinite thanks for such sublime benefit.

In gratitude, I offer you the poverty, humility, and other virtues of your incarnate Son. By his divine merits and discomforts with which he was born as well as by the tender tears that he wept in the manger, I beg you to dispose of our hearts with profound humility, with burning love, and with a detachment of all the earthly things. I ask you that Jesus, as the newborn, has his cradle in our hearts and dwells eternally in them. Amen

PRAYER TO THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY

Sovereign Mary, who, by your great virtues, and especially because of your humility, deserved that God chose you as his mother. I beg you to prepare and dispose of my soul and of all those who, at this time, do this novena, to celebrate the birth of your beloved Son. Oh, sweet mother! communicate to me something about the profound adoration and divine tenderness with which you pleased him so that you make us less unworthy to see, love, and adore him for all eternity. Amen.

PRAYER TO SAINT JOSEPH

Oh, Most Blessed, Joseph! Husband of Mary and the foster father of Jesus. I give God infinite thanks because he chose you for such high ministries and adorned you with all the gifts provided to such excellent greatness. I beg you for your love to the divine child; you embrace me in fervent desires to see and receive him sacramentally while in his divine essence, I see him and rejoice in heaven. Amen.

PRAYER TO CHILD JESUS

Remember, oh, sweet Child Jesus! That you said to the venerable Margaret of the Blessed Sacrament, and through her to all your faithful, these words so comforting to our humanity overwhelmed by poverty and suffering: "Everything you want to ask, ask for it for the merits of my childhood, and nothing will be denied to you.

Full of trust in You Oh Jesus, you are the same truth! We come to present all our needs. Help us to lead a holy life, to achieve a blessed eternity. Grant us, by the infinite merits of your Incarnation and your childhood, the grace, of which we need so much: ……...

We surrender to you, O omnipotent Child! confident that our hope will not be frustrated, and that by your divine promise, you will favorably receive and grant our supplication. Amen.
